At times I tend to tune out. Do you ever do that?
In some ways it has helped, like an escape from PAIN seems good! Right?
At times I ignore the "Dread Pirate" Pain, when I should take action (heating pad, get up, sit down) You get the picture...
I'm a bit of a loner, so when feeling tired, like a turtle in a shell, I hunker down in my own little home. I don't want to go out or answer the phone or even read my email. Sometimes making supper seems like an insurmountable goal, so going out is not an option.
I see these traits in both positive and negative lights. Alone time is crucial for my writing and artistic exploration. Lots of times, the reason I can be optimistic and smiling, is because I put the "zone out" in charge of PAIN contol and FATIGUE. And I get up out of bed and begin another day!
The awareness I am moving toward is a coming out of my BIG shell, my
comfort/safety zone and reconnecting with friends and family. Good stuff and fun experiences with old and NEW friends. Get where I'm going with this?
Managing a balance between beneficial "zone out" and awareness is where I'm heading. Through some yoga meditation exercises, I have experienced NO PAIN and with it comes the great gift of energy. With the awareness that it's possible comes the desire to have it all the time!
I feel like I'm on the verge of an awakening and every step, stumble and fall has brought me here.
