Three for Thursday

Let happiness in...ATC
Today's ATCs began "life" as cardboard from a Kleenex box :)

As I am currently obsessed with spray inks, that's what today's backgrounds are.

1. Sometimes I just need the gentle reminder to Let happiness in...
So I wrote the phrase onto tea stained muslin strips, layered over a ticket,  added white polka dots (InKssentials, enamel accents) and lastly I edged the card with lilac (Sharpie).

2. For "what" I used an opaque white ink marker, then outlined with a fine black pen.  It took several coats of white on white to get lettering that didn't blend completely into the ink spray, even though I heat set the ink.  Hmm...

I have issues with these kind of markers that require shaking and special horizontal storage, as well as writing so small you have to break out the magnifying glass!

Do you use these markers?  Do you like them?  Any special tips or tricks I've missed?  Maybe more practice will help my comfort level.

Funny thing now as I look at the ATC, I really like it.

3. This time I rubber stamped the phrase onto muslin, glued the strips down with a glue stick (UHU) , tacky glued (Aleene's) the snaps and finally used black ink (StazOn solvent ink pad) on card edges.

A tongue in cheek reminder for myself to chill.  Do you have any phrases or quotes that you use in your art?  Care to share?

Hope you are enjoying my ATCs.

Tempted to give it a whirl?

Go for it!
