Today's favorite tool

A palette knife can come in very handy for spreading gel medium onto large or irregular surfaces.

It would be great for making a textured background too.  Today I used mine to add a piece of mono printed graph paper to an index card.

When adding rubber stamped or stenciled tissue paper to your backgrounds, a palette knife is THE tool to "butter" gel medium onto the page.  Then smooth stamped tissue paper down for seamless addition.

The background colors and texture are clearly seen through the tissue paper affixed this way.

ink splattered journal inclusion :)

I really like using the palette knife and look forward to dreaming up more uses for it.

What tool is YOUR favorite today?
