Wise art journal page

This page makes me smile, the ballerina, happy colors and textures all came together and I just love it when that happens.

WISE girl

The page started with handwritten journaling.  You can see bits of it here and there but the color layers mask it all nicely.  Final journaling I want to see is done with a white gel pen.

You can see brayer effect of yellow paint over pink and blue layers.

The W-I-S-E letters pop against the black stencil.

Sometimes I want to know what day of the week a page was done and my Dymo label in black works well against the bright colors.

The date stamp is the last part of each art journal page.

I've been starting my pages with handwritten journaling and it really gets the art mojo started.  What gets your creativity rolling?

  2. I always start with either collage or gesso, then colour. After that I see where it leads to. I love your layers with the brayered colour - it always produces something unexpected.
